YODL

Welcome to the home of the Yaatly Online Debate League.  The YODL was established to provide a high-quality online tournament experience for BP debating and to serve as a laboratory to explore alternative practices in BP. 

The YODL sanctions two online events each semester culminating in an in-person championship tournament each spring.  League points may be earned by both teams and squads for semester- and season-long awards. 

YODL tournaments incorporate a number of approaches that are significantly different from traditional BP practice.  In brief, the major differences are:

• A Friday afternoon/Saturday schedule featuring 4 preliminary rounds leading to elims in Open and Novice divisions.

• Each debate decides topic via a topic striking process.

• Points of privilege used to address equity concerns in-round.
